Hamat Gader
Hamat Gader
Tucked away under the Sea of Galilee (Kinneret) and eastward of the Jordan River, Hamat Gader featured a ton of unique attractions for all ages. The main attraction is obviously the thermal springs which have been exploited by mankind since the Romans, some 2,000 years ago. But there is more, Hamat Gader also hosts the only crocodile farm in all of the Middle East
Greek city of Gadera was built on top of the hill with a view of the Sea of Galilee (the Sea of Galilee) and the Yarmuk River. At the foot of the hill, in the valley of the river, on a small promontory was founded Hamat Gader - the hot springs of Gadera. In the Roman period, the therapeutic properties of these hot springs gained wide popularity, and the second largest Roman bathing complex was built in Hamat Gader. In ancient times, visitors to the baths were famous rabbis, as well as outstanding Greek philosophers and teachers, such as Meleager and Philodemus. Gadera with its hot springs was part of the Decapolis, district of Greek cities well known to Jesus. Here, in the land of the Gaderites, Jesus and the apostles for a long time wandered, healed and preached.
Now Hamat Gader, probably after Eilat, is the most popular Israeli resort. The largest crocodile nursery in the Middle East. Mini-safari. A park. Waterfalls. Pools with hot and cool water, Jacuzzi, Waterslides, Fountains. Circus of parrots. Water in hot hydrogen sulphide springs is rich in minerals that promote health. At the service of those who wish - a jacuzzi, and someone really likes waterfalls. An unusual dance floor, where adults and children dance to rhythmic music.
